Need to know if adotion records are still sealed in New Jersey. I was told by my adotion agency about 6 years ago that it was in front of legislation to have them unsealed. Info would be greatly appreciated.:)
New Jersey records were sealed to adoptees in 1940. As of this date, they still are. I wasn't able to find any information about current legislation being proposed either.
Only 4 states grant unconditional access to OBCs by adult adoptees: Alaska, Kansas, Oregon, and Alabama.
