I just want you to know that the Moderator gave me some of the best information about Booth Memorial Hospital. (Thank you So Much) She said that booth she heard that booth is helping people. That is an Understatement. She has told me (at booth) that If I have the Unidetntifying information they charge $50 and they will contact the Birth mother that was in the hospital and let them know that you are looking. This to me is a good way to start. You just tell them what you know give them the $50 and they do the search and when they find her they talk to her and try to arrange a meeting. Here is the contact information that I have from her. Good luck in your search. And thanks to the Moderator for this information.

In response to the prior post which i noticed has been five years ago. I read that and contacted them and they no longer search for birth families. They will however put your name on a registry and also send you your medical records at the time of your stay at the hospital. Only your records no info about Birthmother will be there. VERY Nice People and that counts for a lot. I am working hard to try to find my Birth family on my own so this was helpful just to know that the people at the salvation army were so friendly. Best of luck to you all.
I was born in Booth Memorial Hospital on July 26, 1960 and am searching for my birth records. I contacted the Salvation Army in Des Plaines, IL and was referred to the museum historian who never called me back. I called again a couple days later was then referred to the archives center in Alexandria, Virginia and they have not returned my call! :grr: Brick walls!
