Hi, everyone. I'm an adult adoptee who's been trying to find a support group in the Philadelphia area, but so far I haven't had any luck. Does anyone know of any local groups? Or, failing that, would any of you have any interest in helping to create one? Thanks!
-Matt
Matt, My father-in-law is a retired therapist who has a lot of contacts in the Philadelphia area. I will check to see if he knows of any support groups. Will get back to you soon, and let you know either way.

Hi,
I am an adoptee that lives in PA and I belong to Adoption Forum in Pittsburgh. However the main group is in Eastern PA. Here is the web site for the support group.

Adoption Forum is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation established in 1973. It is a self-help organization formed by members of the "Adoption Triangle: Birth parents, adoptees and adoptive parents" as well as adoption professionals and others who share our belief that adoptees have the right to know their origins. The organization provides an opportunity for triad members to come together and sort through their experiences relating to adoption. We establish support groups and work to educate the public about adopted life issues, the need to support open adoption and access to adoption records by birth parents, adoptees and adoptive parents.
touch of gray, I did manage to locate a group in Delaware County, and it's primarily bmoms (most, but not all, in reunion). Drop me a line (MattP44@aol.com) and I'll forward you the details (I didn't want to post the woman's phone number without her consent).
