I have a question I hope someone can answer for me before I go to a lawyer next week. I placed my son for adoption last month: I live in a state outside of New Jersey where the adoptive parents live. At the time of the signing of the consent forms, I was under undue pressure from my husband and was also heavily medicated. I was told that I would have up to three months to change my mind about the procedure. Now, I don't want anyone to think that I have taken any of this lightly. Revoking consent is a weighty step to take. But now that I am reading New Jersey family law, it seems as though the removal of my consent is irrevokable: that there is nothing I can do if the agency doesn't want to help. All of the paperwork I was given during my pregnany speaks to the contrary. Am I wrong? I don't know what to do? Please help....I can not eat or sleep and am terribly pained by not knowing.
thank you,
