In 2011, U.S. citizens adopted approximately 44 children from Thailand. Younger children available for adoption are ages 10 months to 5 years, however most are aged 3 and older; there are also older children, sibling groups, and children with special needs; more boys than girls. The children reside in orphanages and foster care.
