The United States of America became Hague Compliant on April 1, 2008, making Bolivia a viable option for hopeful adoptive parents. In order to adopt from Bolivia, potential adoptive parents must be legal residents of Bolivia. All potential adoptive parents must be between the ages of 25 and 50, and be at least 15 years older than the child. In 2007, four children were adopted from Bolivia.
