BOGDAN from European Union

Bogdan was born in November 2018 and has been diagnosed with spina bifida, hydrocephalus (ventriculoperitoneal shunt installed), hydronephrosis, neurogenic bladder, frequent urinary tract infections, and atopic dermatitis. His development is delayed. Bogdan has been living in an orphanage since he was two weeks old. Although Bogdan’s mobility is limited, he turns his head toward sounds and tries to pull himself into a sitting position with support. He reaches for, holds, and transfers objects with his hands and manipulates sensory toys. Bogdan recognizes adults and initiates and enjoys interactions with them. He waves hello, responds to praise, laughs, blows kisses, and is unhappy when told no. He plays peekaboo, observes others in his environment and babbles sounds and syllables Bogdan depends on adult care for all aspects of daily living, including feeding, toileting, and bathing.
