Xara from Idaho

We’re so excited to introduce you to Xara! This eclectic teen loves learning about history and other cultures; helping friends with their hair and makeup; picking beautiful flowers; sewing; and shopping-with a current passion for Y2K fashion! Xara loves to stay busy and engaged in activities. Dressing up for Halloween; singing and dancing; gymnastics; swimming; acting; cooking and traveling are just some of her current favorite pastimes. She dreams of making it to Japan someday and can’t wait to learn more about their culture, however she understands that a trip of that magnitude may not come until she’s older, so she has her immediate sights set on a trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios hopefully sometime soon! Xara is an extremely smart and motivated girl with big plans for her future! She’s currently considering studying Psychology or Nursing when she gets to college and is looking forward to a career that will allow her to help others who are struggling. Those that know Xara best describe her as a very sweet teen with a keen sense of humor who is considerate of others and always open to their thoughts and suggestions. Xara’s Permanency Team describes the best fit in an adoptive family for her as any type of parental make-up, but preferably a family with no more than two other children in the home. An African American family would be ideal for Xara as she is really seeking support with her cultural identity, however her team is open to hearing from all families who feel they may be a good match for her and to further discussing how they would be able to support her culturally. Xara’s Team is open to Idaho or out of state families and is seeking parents who have a very strong understanding of trauma and teenage needs/challenges. The most effective parenting style for Xara will be a good balance of communicating respectfully and setting healthy boundaries for her, while also understanding that she’s becoming a young adult and needs some freedom and autonomy. We’re convinced that the perfect Forever Family for this amazing teen is out there and is ready to welcome her into their hearts and home and support her as she conquers her goals and dreams and creates an incredible future for herself!
