John, Age 16
My favorite things:
I like to collect Magic Cards. I love to be outdoors, whether it's
camping, fishing, or 4 wheeling. I enjoy building fires and cooking
over them. I like to mountain bike. Would love to be on a bass
fishing high school team. I like archery. I like riding lawn mowers
and love to mow lawns. Like to play soccer. I like airsoft guns and
paint ball. I do like playing video games too! I enjoy listening to my
music.
Things I do not like:
I don't like yelling. I don't like seeing or hearing adults fight. I don't
like to be accused of things I didn't do. I struggle in certain social
situations. Peers who pick on me.
Favorite foods:
I love cantaloupe and honey dew melon. I like to have someone cut
up my strawberries but U can cut my own. I like A&W root beer
floats. I like BBQ, Pizza and Sour Cream Cheddar flavored Pringles. I
like Frito Honey BBQ Twists and cool ranch Doritos. I love pizza. I
like Little Debbie Swish Rolls.
What I want in a family:
I want to be and feel respected. I want to go out and do things as a family. I want an active family. They
want to be outdoors. I would like my needs met. I want them to be kind and hear me. I want them to be
empathetic. I want to feel safe and protected. I want to make friends and have them over.
What I want families to know about me:
That I am a good kid. I know I have struggles but am working on them. I want to be a little brother and not big
brother. I love music and it helps me calm down. I love to work hard. I love to just be outdoors. However, on
rainy day I like video games. I want a family that wants to watch me play sports and interact with me. I want a
family to cheer me on. I want to be able to have friend’s sleepover.
What we want families to know about the youth:
This youth is very active. He is humorous and loves to joke around. He likes to be outdoors and likes to be
entertained. He wants your attention and will seek it. The family should be well versed in childhood trauma
and the effects it may have on development. He will need help learning how to make attachments with folks.
He will push people away once he feels he is starting to trust them. Family work will be a big component in
him succeeding. This youth would work best as an only child or with older teens.
