Makayla from Vermont

Makayla, 14 years old My favorite things: I love singing and dancing, especially to pop, KPop, and rap music. Some of my favorite musicians are Ashnikko, Everglow, Jojo Siwa, and Kane Brown. I also enjoy watching The Descendants on television. I like to go outside, go for walks, camp, and I like to play sports for fun such as soccer and basketball. My favorite color is black and my favorite animal is the hermit crab. Things I do not like: I do not like the dark, sirens, loud noises, angry people, smoke, alcohol, fish, angry animals, being ignored, younger kids, and men. Favorite food: Macaroni and cheese. What I want in a family: I want a family who can spend time with me and help me feel safe from the things I do not like. I would like to live with a family who are patient, kind, and do not yell. What I want families to know about me: I use they/them pronouns. I am an active person. I like to be involved and included. What we want families to know about Makayla: Makayla is a friendly and likeable person. They are very social and will seek attention. Makayla is a strong advocate for themselves and will tell you what they want or need. They are clear about what they like and don’t like. Makayla would benefit from living with one or two mothers, and no younger children. They would do well living in a home with a family who are not quick to anger and who communicate clearly and calmly.
