I am searching for my sister dob 72381. my mom put her up for adoption right after birth. i know very little of what to do to find her. i know she was born in munster indiana and went through bethany christian services of grand rapids michigan. every where i look seems to be a dead end or sombody wants to charge me an ungodly amount of money. so here i am. in hopes that maybe she is looking for birth family as well or maybe someone will be able to help me.
about my sister.... she would be 21 now i am 24. she also has a brother, 23 a sister, 26 a nephew,4 and two neices,2 and 6mo. thats alot of birth family to not ever know. it is a very confusing matter, she was the youngest sibling but my mom put only her up for adoption. we had a rough start in life but we all stayed together, except our dad who was never in the picture since i was 2 and who i have never had contact with andi know he dosent even know he has another duaghter, but i cant help but some how feel guilty that i wasnt adopted. all in all i love my sister that i see regurally and i know i would love my other full blooded sister as well. im sure she probally doesnt even know i exist. but ihave been searching for her ever since she was 18 with absolutly no help from my mom and absoltly no luck.
any ideas or any leads or any advice
still searching paul-----------

Paul,
Have you registered with ISRR? International Soundex Reunion Registry? They have an internet site. Also you can write to Indiana to get her non-id information which from my experience, won't tell you much, but worth a shot. Also, you could try to get a copy of her birth certificate from the state. Don't mention the word "adoption" in any of these instances, as doors will slam shut. You can use: family tree, geneology, etc and that doesn't seem to raise red flags as much. Look at the Indiana section here for all the addresses you'll need.
Good luck,
B
