Hi all, I am new to this site. I am enjoying reading all information on here. We signed up with an agency the end of December last year. Have gotten calls, but situations not what we wanted. We are in the process now of waiting to see if a birthmom will choose us. Wish us luck. Thanks.

I am also very new to this forum. Looked at your profile and noticed that you are from CA as we are. My husband and I signed up with an agency at the very end of February and were matched in early April. The baby girl we are hoping to adopt will be born at the end of July --- we found out she was a girl a month after the match. The forum has been a great place for me to learn about this whole process -- it has been a whirlwind for us. Good luck to you!

My name is Cindy and my husband I are considering adoption.We have no children of our own and have no problems conceiving.We just feel that with all the children that need homes, why should we bring one of our own into these world when we could help a child that is here.Can anyone give my some info as to how to get started?What agency's are good, what questions to ask,etc...

Hi Cindy, welcome and good luck with starting the process of adoption. I do know a lot of agencies ask if fertility is a reason you want to adopt. There are a lot of questions to ask to make sure you're with a good agency. Check the BBB to see if they've had any complaints against them. I asked how many adoptions were finalized, how long the wait, what is included in the fee and the list goes on.... ask any and everything that you want. It is like a family and you want to feel comfortable while you do this.
