Adoption Learning Partners (www.adoptionlearningpartners.org) wants your stories of adoption for a new e-learning course on attachment in adoption (working title: "The Journey of Attachment: A Practical Roadmap for Parents and Children"). We are particularly interested in stories related to attachment issues: how you have coped with sleep problems, food/eating issues, control issues, discipline, tantrums. What strategies have you used that have been successful? What challenges did you face when your child first came into your home? How have attachment issues manifested themselves and what have you done about them? Can you give an example of a time when you did exactly the right thing...or the wrong thing...and what was the result?
If you've seen our courses ("Conspicuous Families", "Let's Talk Adoption") you know how important the stories of real adoptive families are to their quality and meaninfulness. Adoptive parents have so much to share with each other! Post your stories here, or send them to Kathy Garcia at garcia@lpiweb.com. Please include an email address so that, if we want to use your story, we will be able to contact you for permission. Storytellers will be thanked by name in the course acknowledgements page unless anonymity is requested. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH US!!!!
