I had never known of any adopted children in my immediate family, so my interest in the subject was low.
Imagine my surprise  when my mother told me yesterday that she had just found out that HER mother had given a child up for adoption.
This would have happened in Denver between late 1937 and early 1939. I'll need to talk to Grandma's sister to find out a close birthdate, and maybe even where she relinquished the child.
My grandmother (the birth mother)'s first name is Frances.
The birth father's first name was probably Wyatt.
I don't even know yet if the child was male or female.
I wanted to get a good start, though; if this person can be found, he or she has 3 sisters and a brother who'd like to meet him or her.
I will post more as I find out.

If you can find out the name of the agency that would be a good start. Many agencies have "Post Adoptive Services" departments. The social worker that works at the agency that handled my adoption has been great.
Thesearchguru has also posted threads with helpful information for searching in each state.
The very best of luck to you
