Hi,
I am looking for my birth father. I was born in Heidheim, Germany on 5/1/58. My father was in the service there and from the USA.
I have found my birth mother. She lives in the USA now. Her name is Helga. From the stories I've heard from my adopted parents, my father knew of my birth and went to see Helga before returning back to the USA. He was told that I was already given away to an american couple. My adopted father was stationed in Germany at that time. I moved back to the USA in January 1959, I was then 8 months old. I would like to put closure on this part of my life and would like to put his mind at rest if he has been thinking of me for the past 45 years.

Hi,
My father was stationed in Germany around that time & told me about a son he had with a woman named Hilda or Helga, I'm not sure. He showed me a picture of Hilda/Helga holding his son (I don't know the baby's name). I still have the picture. He wanted to marry her & bring her back to PA, USA, but she wouldn't come. Even if this may not be a match, I want you to know that he loved his son & thought of him every day. When he told me about him, I could see that in his eyes. He wanted to be a part of his son's life, but could not live that far away from his mother, who needed taking care of. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.
