I am helping my husband look for his bmother. He was born in NJ, but adopted in MA. Is there a birth index for NJ? If so what does that mean exactly. Thank you for any help. (He knows his birth name and the hospital he was born in.)

There is not an accessible NJ Birth Index, at least not one that would cover living children.
