Hello everyone,
Our homestudy is complete and on its way to BCIS. I added a letter requesting they gear our paperwork towards Panama. So now we just have to do the Phyc. evaluation. That appointment is Thursday.
How are the rest of you coming along?
Roger
Good news! Thanks for sharing where you're at. It's good to know where others are in the process. We are in the midst of gathering the dossier paperwork. Our homestudy was begun last week and we dropped off our 600A and got fingerprinted. Right now we are going to get the doctor's evaluation and blood tests. Then I think it's onto psych. We're also asking people for references.

Hi, We just switched from Guatemala to Panama and our homestudy was done, but I guess we have to do a few changes to it. We should be recieving our 171 H in the next couple of weeks, but that is also for Guatemala, so I guess we have to fix that . We haven't heard anything about a psych eval yet, is that for the dossier??

Hi Jen, yes, Panama requires a psych evaluation done by a licensed psychologist. We are with WPA and they sent us a guideline, but it was very simple. It just needs to state that you are mentally capable of being a good parent to an adopted child. We were lucky, we found someone who will do both mine and dh's for $300 total. I also heard that we may be required to do another one in Panama, but that's not for sure.
