If you need any information which may be stored in courthouses in the counties of Henry, Pittsylvania, Franklin, Patrick or the Cities of Martinsville or Danville, I may be able to help you. In my occupation, I regularly visit those courthouses and would be more than willing to make any requested searches for you.
I also occasionally make it to courthouses in other counties nearby those, but not as regularly.
Just let me know!
My parents actually got me taken away from them. SO i dont think it was a planned adoption. How would i go about getting info from the navy ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

All u need to do to get ur medical info is to go to the social service office and request ur non identifying info. I dont know aobut other states but in Missouri where I am, it is state law that u are intitled to the non identifying info, I got my non identifying info, which bites because it didnt saying nothing but an occasional kidney infection. I live outside of Portsmouth. I am currently trying to find my father and was adopted out of portsmouth, va. I am planning on going to the court house next month (if i get get out of work for a day) Is there any more info?
Were you born at Naval Station Norfolk or Portsmouth Naval Hospital? Were there any criminal charges that lead to you being taken? Those are easier to research.

This letter is about my half brother whom I shall call Tracy since that is the name my mother said she had chosen for her son . My mother- Dorothy Lee Kemp (Jones) b. August 4, 1911 Lightfoot, Virginia d. July 25, 1995 Anaheim California. Tracy was born out of wedlock in the year 1931-32, Richmond, Virginia.
I am writing this letter to ask that you please release this information to my half brother. I truly believe that he needs to know how much he was loved and thought of. I had my mothers love for 60 years. I was able to touch and feel her love. He needs to know that he was loved as well, his love from her was mental. She could not reach out and touch him but the love was there. I know he must have felt this love. If he is deceased please forward this letter to his family.
It was late in my life that I found out about mom having the baby out of wedlock. I had a dream that there was a letter that was to be read upon her death. When I confronted mom with this information she broke down and told me all about having a child out of wedlock. She said she did not want to give up the baby but her mother made her do this. They took her to a home in Richmond, Virginia, to have the baby. The baby was given up for adoption. She never heard from him again. Mom said she held the baby and named him Tracy. Her heart was heavy telling me the story. She said she wanted to take him home so badly. But it was unheard of in those days. During her pregnancy she lived on a farm in Richmond ,Virginia and did chores in return for room and board. It was a home for unwed mothers. I remember her saying that she hated oatmeal. That was her morning breakfast every day . Mom later was married to Eldridge V. Jones-my father. I am the second of five children. Eldridge was not Tracys father. ( Mom said that the father of Tracy was a man named Nelson Freeman). Mom lived in Lightfoot, Virginia. Tracy was born sometime between 1930-1932. The place she was boarding at was just off of Broad Street, in Richmond. MomҒs family was Methodist in religion. The home she was in was thought to be a Methodist home for unwed mothers.
All of my mothers life I knew that something was bothering her. She was never really happy. I know that the loss of her firstborn weighed heavily on her heart. She was a loving and caring person. Always kissing and hugging us. On her death bed and in a semi coma state she raised up in bed a reached out her arms, and in a gentle but anguished voice she cried out, My baby, My baby.Ӕ These were her last words. So if there is any chance of finding Tracy I am asking you to please help me find him. He needs to know how much he was really loved and thought of during my mothers entire life. If he is deceased his children need to know that their father was loved.
We have had a lot of cancer in the family as well as congestive heart failure. Mom passed away with stomach cancer and congestive heart failure. My sisters and I have had breast cancer, as well as my daughter at 40 years of age. My two brothers have skin cancer. Harriet Ray

I started my search for my brother who was born and adopted in Louisville, Kentucky. A wonderfull search angel in Kentucky found that my brother born "Robert John Lee" was born on 06/16/1965. She researched his records and found that his new name is Eric John Jackson, his adopted mothers maiden name was Eleanor L Rogers. After several dead end people searches I believe that he lives in Maryland or Virginia. A possible Eric John Jackson had known addresses in.....Upper Marlboro, Bowie and Glenarden in Maryland and Alexandria and Petersburg in Virginia, but I cannot find a working number or address. Does anyone have any ideas?
My e-amil is jessandgems@sbcglobal.net
Thank you

Can you tell me what type of information might be found at the courthouse? I am helping an adoptee search - she was born in Fairfax County, Va, in 1973. Please advise what type of records we should be looking for. She is under the imrpession that her birthmother's last name may have been Goldberg. Does the courthouses have birth indexes with child's name prior to adoption? Or does Va offer adoption decrees to be viewed at the courthouse??
I would appreciate any advice or information!

Georgia
