Hi guys! I am 18 years old and i just began my search. I don't know much about my adoption so i don't have a clue where to start! Question: is there an adoption agency or hospital in biloxi that i could contact? that is where i was born but i don't know the name of it. any help or info please contact me here or genie_alice@hotmail.com.
Thanks and good luck!
If you contact Phobey Clark, she will be able to let you know non-ID info and sometimes full-ID info. All adoptions records after 1965 are kept in her office. You will have to write her, but if you call she will tell you what to put in the letter. Here is the address and phone #'s and web pages.

Good luck in getting any response from Ms. Clark. I wrote and even called her to get my non-identifying information and the lady was very rude and more or less told me she could not find my information. Just what we need is someone in post-adoptions that does not want to do her job. Good luck and you just might have more luck with her than I did.

What you have to remember in Mississippi is that if an adoption is handled through private means, not through DHS, then the records of the adoption are only available to the birth family. The only way a person who is an adoptee can gain access to sealed records is by a showing of cause in front of a judge.
If you deal with DHS, they are not going to give you the information unless the birth family has requested that you have access to it.
I have been searching for over 10 years now and have not found anything due to the fact that the records are sealed.
If you have any questions or if I can be of any help in your search let me know.
