Can we find her?

I recently found out that I have a sister born 11 years before me and she was put up for adoption. My mother is interested in finding her however the adoption went through a lawyer in 1971. Is there a possibility at this point we would be able to find her? What would we need to do? Any help or advice would be great. Thanks
