I have always known I was adopted and I have gone thru every phase, pulled every poor me act and played the strong adoptee role. Well it has consumed my life. My poor children have seen my back and only fall asleep tp the clicking of the keyboard. I wish I could meet my birth family but as years go by I become more and more doubtful. I give up. Thank you to all who have been helped, wanted to help, and those who ment to help. I had hoped to close the unknown chapter in my life and maybe one day I will. I will provide my info one last time and hope that it will ring a bell to someone somewhere.

I have had my non-id info since 1998, when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, it provided me with a little info. that I did not know about such as my birth weight and length. I was told just about all else. There is a few questionable statements in regards to how I came to be put up for adoption......I was told I was taken by the state, my non-id says my mother gave me up. Im so intersted in the truth. Im 31 there is no reason to keep secrets from me. I had a good child hood and so far great adulthood..including 2 biological children and raising my nephew. I want to know how I came about to be adopted. No blame or shame will be directed at anyone. I WAS BLESSED TO BE ADOPTED.
Yes I was born in California and thru my aunt or mother or the state I ended up in WA and was adopted thru Childrens Home Society. Its a mystery how I came to WA STATE but thats where my mom and dad (adopted) live and this is were I was adopted and raised!

I've read that often times bmom will name their child a special name and it's not uncommon to name the child after themselves or a parent. Whether it be the first, middle or last. You know your mothers maiden was Hayes, was she married?
I'm sure you have already thought this all through so I'm just kind of thinking out loud here. You were named Shirley Singh, so if your mom was married that would probably have been her married name. If she wasn't, then most likely it is you bfathers last name. The name Singh is very popular in CA, as I am sure you have discovered. Hayes however, is much less so, although, there are still quite a few, 158 from a yahoo people search. Did you know there is a Shirley Hayes listed in Sacramento. Shirley is not all that popular of a name. Have you checked her out? PM me and maybe we can brainstorm toghether. Who knows maybe we can come up with some things you hadn't thought about before. It always helps to have another persons perspective. I have read a lot of books about searching and typically once you have a name there are tons of ways to track a person down. I'll look forward to hearing from you!
Hi, Manisha...welcome back. I just wanted to give you encouragement. I am a birth mother, and just found my son on this website less than three weeks ago. He was adopted almost 36 years ago, and had been searching for me for a long time, too. I never thought I would see this day come true, but we DID find each other. Don't give up. My thoughts are with you. (((HUGS))) Susan

Hi Manisha-
You mentioned in an earlier post that you had received your non-identifying information (non-id)? Did you request it from BOTH Children's Home Society AND the county where the adoption was finalized? You definitely should request from both places. And if it's been a number of years since you got the non-id, request it again.
We have a free Yahoo group that can help with WA searches (also help with OR and ID searches). All you need is a free Yahoo email account. Go to the Yahoo Groups page, and search for "Washington adoption search" and you should find us.
If that doesn't work, email me and I'll help you out.
