I'm just curious how long it was between we you got "The Call" and when you got your baby!
Have a great day!

I haven't gotten either but I personally know of two couples.
One got the call the day after she was approved and within 2 days the baby was in her home. Bmom went to the hospital unsure of her original decision and at the last minute asked for any new profiles.
The other couple was approved for 8 yrs before getting a match. Statistic from LDSFS (if I remember) says that most bmoms choose the aparents in the 6th or 7th month.
We decided to not buy anything, and just get a nest egg ready for a last minute shopping spree. I have crocheted a white afeghan though!

Last May/June (I can't remember which one) I was told in a blessing that I had to get everthing because when it happened it would happen fast and I needed to be ready. I had just received a completely unexpected scholarship at school where they just hand you the money at the end of the semester (isn't that odd??) So I took it and went baby shopping. I must say it was the hardest thing I have ever done. There have since been two situations that came up and then fell though, but at least with niether of them was a panicked about needing to go get anything LOL!
All the stuff is in a storage shed about a mile away. I couldn't bear to have it in the house. And now I am getting these incredibly intense promptings and vivid dreams about how it is time to start bringing those things home. (Not that I need to do it today mind you... just that I need to start getting ready.) It has put me in such a state. I'm not excited. I'm terrified. After so many disappointments for all these years I'm afraid to hope it might actually happen and I don't think I could bear setting those baby things up and then having no baby. More heartbreak would be too much. I'm a strong woman & I know it, but I think I may have reached my limit!
I cannot believe I just typed all of that. I'm having a pensive day obviously. Sorry I was long-winded and pensive!!
For us it was just one day. We were told that day she was born because they were still trying to notify the birth father and get him to sign. Then we went to the hospital the next day and signed. It was great, I know the lord knew that I couldn't wait a long time. But I have a friend who waited three months until her daughter was born. It just depends when the birthparent picks you and until the baby is born.
Goodluck,

We found out about our darling daughter the first week of October 2003. She was born the first week of January 2004. So we waited three months from the time we got the call till she came home. It was a hard and stressful wait and we were definitely nervous much of that time but I wouldn't change it for anything. Because we had 3 months we were able to prepare and get ready. We were also able to get to know and fall in love with our daughters wonderful birthmother. I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Good luck on your journey!

We got 'the call' when our son was 3 days old. Still didn't know if it was a sure thing, and didn't hardly dare hope. Bmom wanted to meet us, etc. We had a meeting set up, and I asked if we should bring a car seat, cause I still had NO idea if it was a 'for sure' thing, even though she had chosen us. The SW said 'yes, bring a car seat.' (Making me feel silly that I asked.)
We met our son and his bparents when he was 9 days old, and brought him home that same day. (He had went to foster care from the hospital, for a few days.) He is now an adorable 3 and 1/2 year old...I am so curious as to how things will go with our next adoption.

With our ds it we were notified his birthmom was coming into the state with him (he was 3 mos old) on Friday and she signed papers on Tuesday and we brought him home that day. With our dd, we were matched for about 6 weeks before she was born. She was born on Friday, I flew to GA that Sunday, was at the hospital to pick her up Monday morning and flew home to Utah with her on Thursday. Our other two were through DCFS and were placed at separate times.
