Does anyone know if Texas Medicaid will pay for allergy testing before the age of 4 years?
Any info or weblinks would be appreciated. Our children are under 4 years old and we believe they both have allergies and one has asthma. We'd like to have them tested but were told that medicaid will not pay for it before the age of 4 years.
Is this true? Thanks for the info and help!

Hello, I know that Drs. will not allow testing to children under the age of 4. If your regular Dr thinks it is nessecary then he will know which Dr will do the testing and take the childs card. You might have to contact your medical board ( or have caseworker) to make sure it get approve. I have a child who came with asthma and after visits with bmom were stopped the child hasnt' had probs. He plays soccer, baseball, and anyhting else he wants. Only time of year is now when the weather changes he goes in and has about 4 breathing session at the hospital at one time, but much better than 8 times a week as it was 4 yrs ago.
Good luck, Annie6
