We retained an attorney yesterday to start the adoptions of all 3 of my older kids. We are all excited. He didn't give us an idea of a time frame, but he said it's pretty cut and dried. The price was MUCH lower than what we were quoted a few years ago by a different attorney.

I reside in Los Angeles County and the cheapest attorney I've found was 1800.00, does that sound about right? Our adoption is for only one kid.

I live in Fresno County. Our attorney asked for a $500 retainer and he said it shouldn't go over a total of about $1000 for all 3 kids. The first atty we saw a few years ago asked for a $3000 retainer just to start. It's just a matter of finding the right one I think.

Wow that is great. I have got quoted nothing lower than $2500 just to start and I am in Kern county.
