Fundraiser - recycling printer cartridges?

Have any of you done a fundraiser where you recycle printer cartridges or old cell phones? How was it? In the limited reading I've done, it seems like you get about $2 per cartridge. If I could get my church and maybe a few more churches to do this, I could do pretty well with this.
