I want to terminate my parental rights to a child in the state of florida, has anyone done this? how difficult is it and how much does it cost.

Most states will not randomly terminate the rights of parents just because a parent wishes for same. The process to reach that point is to contact your local social services agency and identify that you cannot parent this child and why ... most states have a voluntary foster care placement system which you will place your child in (not easily done emotionally so be prepared!) ... a shelter hearing will be held to effect placement and then they will walk through a several month process attempting reunification and other processes ... as a permenancy plan is developed for the child ... Note - you will most likely be assessed for child support payment between the initial removal from your care and custody through tpr which is determined by a formula ... don't let this stop you if there is a need for the child to be placed away from you - better to identify same than to have an incident that you will regret in the future.
Hope this helps.
