Hey. Been thinking bout you lately since you are one of the few who actually completed a Panamanian adoption (and are on the boards to tell about it).
I'd like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind answering them.
How old was Ysabella when you got the referral?
How old was she when you got to travel and bring her home?
How is she doing with bonding and attachment now that you've had her home a good while?
I'd love to hear more about your daughter, as much as you're comfortable sharing. I guess part of me wants to believe there really are kids from Panama after all this paperwork and waiting! haha And I think it would give us all a shot in the arm to see a rainbow in all this uncertainty. Seems like the board is getting discouraged lately.
Thanks!
Robin
There is quite a bit of information for you on page 5 "paperwork at the consulate" in case you are wanting more info.
How old was Ysabella when you got the referral? Ysa was 8 months old.
How old was she when you got to travel and bring her home? We traveled the first time in May (14 months old) and the second time in June (15 months old) and brought her home on June 18th.
How is she doing with bonding and attachment now that you've had her home a good while? Ysabella is doing remarkably well. I truly believe this is a testiment to the attention and affection she received in the orphanage. She just turned 2 on Sunday and is talking in complete sentences. She is certainly a go getter and definately a poster child for adoption. I can't thank our agency enough for finding her for us.
I have been off the forums for quite awhile due to an illness in my husbands family. Sorry for the delay in my response. If you have other questions, I will certainly try to answer if I can.
