YIPPEEEEEEEEEEee. There is an end to this paperwork. We met with our caseworker Monday and our dossier looks great.
The only thing she wants me to do before we turn it in is get an updated copy of our psychologists license, because it expires at the end of May. I called him while we were at the adoption agency and he said he remembered us so when he got his renewal notice, he submitted for his renewal early and already got his updated license. Wasn't that so nice? I mean we only saw the guy once (for our testing), but he remembered me by name and remembered that I commented on his license expiration date. Then because we needed to notarize his license that we got before (which we forgot to do), he ran out to his car to get his drivers's license number as proof of identity. And our caseworker notarized a letter attesting that the copy (when we get it) is a true copy. Very nice of her, too, even though you're not supposed to notarize things sight-unseen. But hey! We already figure we gotta retake the psych eval in Panama anyay, and the caseworker did speak to the doctor by phone.
I gotta finish our scrapbook...it's closing in on 20 pages. Probably includes over fifty photos and captions, but I had so much fun doing it. Gonna also get it copied through a printer, if it's not too expensive.
Sunday, Derek and I are driving to the state Capitol for a nice overnight trip get-away, and getting our stuff apostilled in person Monday morning.
Then it's off to Panama!! When we get our 171-H we'll send that down later.
Derek took me to Outback Monday night after meeting with the agency to celebrate the culmination of all this paperwork. I suppose we'll celebrate again when we actually turn the dossier in! haha
Ok, so I'm rambling, but can't you just feel my excitement!! :)
