I'm new to this forum so appologize now if I am breaking any unwritten rules. How would one go about speaking to an adoption councilor or finding one in my area?

Find the Family Services in your area to start. Check out family therapist/counselors who might specialize in adoption counseling. Women Service Centers and Safe Houses may have info to help you out. Good luck

It depends on why you are needing to talk to an adoption councilor? Are you looking to adopt or exploring your options on placing? Or are you having concerns with an adoption you are already in? I would send you to different places for all three situations.
