I just don't think the law is fair to adoptees....But..for medical reasons, I'd think people would be more responsive...My CI sent 2 letters to birth father and he blew them off..and..he's in the Frederick, MD area...Birth mother has been dead for 20 years..
But..that's just my opinion...

Searching for birthmother. I was born on 10/19/1969 in Washington, DC. I'm told the adoption was handled through Catholic Charities. The lawyer that handled the adoption has since passed away but his office was located in Annandale, VA. I was released to my family in December of 1969, I think December 9. I understand that my original birth certificate has a name of Baby Girl.

I received my background from The Cradle today:
My birthmother was 17 at the time of my birth. My birthfather was 20. They had dated for 19 months, but broke up when he went to college, where he was majoring in Marine Biology. My birthfather did not know about the pregnancy, unless he later found out from mutual friends. My birthmother's mother was 40, and her father 42 when I was born. My birthmother signed official papers placing me for adoption on November 11, 1974, and I joined my adoptive family a month later. The nurses at the hospital where I lived until then named me Louise. I weighed 6 lbs 13 oz at birth. I got my blue eyes from my birth father. The Cradle has not been contacted by my birth mother since my adoption. :( I guess that is all I will find out from The Cradle.
