I would like to ask parents who have traveled to Bulgaria how they found the conditions in the orphanages. I've seen some discouraging pictures online and I am curious if that is the norm.
Thanks

The orphanage that my son is from was pretty grim looking on the outside. It didn't look dirty or cluttered or anything like that - just old.
The inside was clean. And what I remember most was hearing a dryer run each time I was there. Which means that they were constantly washing - clothes, diapers, whatever. I got to visit my son 3 times. He had on a different outfit each time and they were spotlessly clean. He was also.
This really depends upon the orphanage. Some are better than other.
Hi to all. We are new to the group but I wanted to coment on the condition of the orphanage where my son was from. He was very well taken care and we were amazed at the love and attention that was given to him during the first two years of his life. It was very clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff were very nice and we could tell that our son was really and truly loved. We had an awesome experience!
Good luck to all of you!
