hi all, i kinda jumped over from the 'aparents to be' and 'adopting AA' boards. i have a question. first a little background. we are in cali and we were matched with a baby girl in FL in march. we got the call on friday and had to be in FL by monday to take the baby home from the hosptial. we spent 10 days there waiting for the inter state stuff and were Very glad to be home with our baby by late march. our agency wasnt licensed in FL so we had to hire an additional FL agency, somehwo the paperwork for finalization got filed there instead of cali like we had planned. we have a hearing date of 8:30am, july 6th for our finalization. we are to be present by phone with a notary. so we will not have the usual hearing day festivities, no pics with the judge, no day in court to remember. now i know the important part of all this is that our daughter will finally be ours YaY! but i still want to find a way to make this day memorable. has this happened to anyone else? does anyone have any suggestions as to fun stuff to do in lieu of court pics. MIL will be here since she is a notary, so we have the beginnings of a party.
thanks
