I have been talking with this ALTERNATIVE FOUNDATION representative for a few days. AF is one of the accredited Bulgatian agencies. The only problem I am having is that state that it is against Bulgarian law to disclose families that used their services. It is probably true or not, who knows...but I was wondering if anyone on this board ever used or heard of them.
Also, I wrote to several Bulgarian agencies, and a couple of interesting facts emerged. One of which that for their fee they offer all the services that american agency offers. Of course you do not get " preparation for your journey " or such document but you also pay much less...in fact $8K less.
Another interesting fact is that there is no rhyme or reason as to how referrals are given out, because the Ministry is not looking for the child for the parents, but rather for parents for the child, and if they feel it is not a match you wait. If anyone is interested they can PM me and I wll forward them my communications with Maria from AF.
