I am, as wel as all of you are looking...for my Birth Mother. I was born on July 22, 1978 in Denton Texas. The adoption lawyer was Tom D. Jester, the socail worker used was Eva Hunter. I am just in the begining phase of my search,a nd any info that anyone could give would be SO helpful! Suggestions would be great too!
Might I ask what types of questions reunited adoptees have had, or wanted to ask their **?
Thank you all for your help in advance!

In additionto my last post...
I just spoke to the lawyer used in my case, and I told him, that my parents said that in 1978 there was only one hospital in Denton at that time...he said it was very possibe that I might have been born in Ft. Worth, or Dallas. However, it was made final in Denton.
Thanks

Just for your info, there were only three girls listed in the Denton County birth index with that birthdate. If one is you, you were most likely born in Denton County.
CLINTON, KAREN JO
HOINE, MARA RACHEL
HUFF, JENNIFER ANN
Was the attorney not willing to give you the birthmother's name? What about other non-identifying info? You might consider asking your adoptive parents to contact him and request the info. Since he represented them, he might be more likely to give the info to them.

HI THERE.
Well I just found this post because there was a diff thread that "shrinkidink" posted to that I saw and I had wanted to contact her..
when I was looking at her profile it said that her "STATUS" is "BANNED" does anyone know what that means, I mean I am assuming it is obvious, and what it 'sounds' like... but HOW does a person get "banned" from this site??? plllleeease don't "ban" ME for asking... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this site and I have met some really great people here... its amazing, how I have been able to bond with people here... ANYWAY I was just wondering...
Also to comment to what Mike had said.... WIth My personal experience with searching... well I am 26 now and have been searching On and off since I was 16... so anyways, when I was 18 my adoptive mom went to the law office that did the adoption. The lawyer that actually DID the adoption, is not a 'lawyer' anymore he is a STATE LEGISTLATOR...haha... but the "partner" lawyer in the firm is still there... well when she asked him for help he shot her down REEAAALLLL quick!!!! He basically said "that would be COMPLETELY unethical of me to do something like that... in 1978 adoptions were very closed (I too was bn in '78) and they were closed for a REASON... and should have stayed that way, and I DO NOT BELIEVE in ''this search stuff''!!!!!!!!" That is what that 'wonderful man' (haha) said.....
Anyow, About Two weeks ago, I for the heck of it , Wrote a Letter to My local (republican) "state legislator" AKA the attorney that handled my adoption case!!!!! and you know what... I basically POURED MY HEART out to this guy, I figured hey, its worth a SHOT right??/? Well here in Illinois the adoption law states something to the fact of the attorney needing to supply the "petitioners" AKA adoptive parents, with copies of ALL legal proceedings namingly in my case the 'ADOPTION DECREE,' all within 30 days of the finalization of the adoption "WITHOUT ORDER OF THE COURT" anytime AFTER 30 DAYS, they are to do so "WITHOUT ANY QUESTION" but BY the 'order of the court' ....
My point was that my mother and I have written the letter and are going to get it notorized which is what we have to do and send it with like a $9 check to the judge in our county that handles this and we WILL be , or should I say my mom will be given a copy of my decree, legally, wheather he likes it or not...lol lol lol.... so I thought maybe knowing all this He'd want to help my son and I .... yeah right.... lol
SO I was asking him, because, you know as many personal reasons as i have for searching I also have Medical ones too, for me and my 13 month old little boy..... I thought perhaps THOSE issues MIGHT 'lighten him up'' a bit to help us...
Well 2-1/2 weeks later I have not heard A THING back from him...
So my only point is that, just because an attorney "represented your a parents in the adoption does NOT mean (from what I experienced and have HEARD,) that they will be wanting to, or even willing to, help us.....Geez, not only that but as far as an ATTORNEY giving you a NAME....I don't know that that would happen...NOT A "LAW"yer. So it seems...
I personally recieved more information, including a FIRST name, from the agencey I was adopted thru, than anywhere else...But unfortunate for me, that was 10 years ago and they don't exist anymore...
Well I babled enough I just wanted to share my experience with ya.... and like I said its just my experience, and from what I have heard or learned from others... You may be or have been that lucky person that got a Lawyer to tell you stuff... I just know Mine WILL NOT at all, and like I said before I was told that lawyers (unless of course maybe THEY were touched by adoption) are not very "PRO-Adoption reunion or rights or changes"...
thanks for listening...
