I am searching for my birth family(mother,father, any siblings or others ) or even someone with some information that could be helpful. My story is a little confusing but here it goes. As far as I know I was adopted in 1970 in Jackson MS through Catholic Charities, however I've contacted Catholic Charities two times over the last 3 years or so and they have no record of my adoptive parents ever adopting a child in Mississippi nor any record of me coming through their agency. According to what I've been told also I was born in Memphis TN but after contacting children services in the state of TN they also have no record of me , no sealed records, no long form birth cert. nothing. I have the short form birth cert but all that is on it is my name and Memphis, TN. At this point I'm not even sure where I was born, how I got to where I was adopted, or even if this is my birthdate and how old I truly am. At this point I don't know what to do from what I know my birth last name is Ryle but I'm not even sure at this point how accurate that information is. Not sure what my next step should be hence my post to this board what do yall think or where else could I look. I'm really feeling pressed to find some part of my birth family before they pass as we're all getting older and I really want to close this chapter in my life.

I haven't because I don't even know what other agencies there are to contact. I spoke with a lady at the dept of human services today and after I explained the whole situation she said to send her a letter and she would do what she could but she basically said that at this point I'm at a dead end because none of the info I have is very complete and it all seems to lead nowhere.
I called the Department of Human services and the lady I talked to said she couldn't help me after I gave her all of my information..I looked at the mississippi children's home and think I'll give them a call tomorrow but the fee throw's me off with them but I guess it wouldn't hurt...don't know why I'd be born in Memphis and adopted in Jackson though..man this is killing me .
That is a good question. Did your adoptive parents live there at the time. The lady that works at mississippi children's home that handles this type of stuff tries to be very helpful. So even if she can't find your file explain to her the situation, who knows maybe she give you a little advice.
