We are working with an adoption referral service/facilitator who helps us find prospective adoption situations. Basically they will put us in touch with pregnant women making adoption plans and then we would match by phone conversations (most are out of state). I'm just wondering how to handle the initial phone calls when we receive the women's contact information or when they call us. I'm really nervous b/c I'm very shy and don't like to talk on the phone...I get all tongue-tied. What kinds of things are good to talk about, and how much info should be exchanged during the initial call? What can I expect? I just don't want to blow it by sounding like an idiot on the phone! Any pointers?
