Hello everyone. I just started searching for my Bio Mother and Family. I do not know what to expect! For those of you that have had success searching using DHR I have a few questions.
First off my mother has left her name in my non-id. Is that a good sign or nothing to get too excited about?
Secondly the state was able to get a hold of my orginal birth certificate. Should I feel good about that or is it pretty common for them to accomplish?
Lastly my adopted mother, after I told her I am searching decided to tell me she had a letter from my Bio mom but lost it. Is this a good sign that maybe my bio mom wanted me to know things?
Is there any advice out there for maybe what to expect????
I am bubbling over to have the little bits and peices of info I now have after 29 years of wondering!!!
I have registered with Soundex and the Georgia Reunion Registry to no avail by the way.
Thanks to all that respond!!!!!

How is your search going? I sent a Non-Id request to GARR which provided me with 0 information that I already didn't know. It sounds like you may of had an open adoption and your Bmom was allowed to contact you once you turned 18.
Do you know her name? Or your Bdad's name? Where do they live? I located my Bmom's husband (at the time) on Google's search engine. I just typed in his name and state and got only (1) name/number as a result. I took a chance and called. It was her X husband. In a matter of hours, he called my Bmom and told her that I made contact and then she called me.
There are lots of search engines that will provide with alot if you have limited information. You will be amazed at what you can come up with!
Good luck!
