Hi,
I am doing some research regarding the feelings of adopted parents
1. how did you react to your adult child seeking or wanting to be reunited with their Birth family
2. what affects has it caused your family?.
3. Did you support your adult child when they were searching?
4. Did they include you before they started there search?
5. If they did not include you before they started searching, how did that make you feel?
6. If at all, do you have a relationship now with the birthfamily
on this question 6 this does not pertain to an open adoption, if it was an open adoption please do not answer question 6.
Please be open and honest with your answers.
Please reply and number your answers to match the questions above.
Thank you and I look forward to your responses.
Sincerely,
BN

Just a suggestion -
I am Professor of Psychology (and a clinical psychologist) and I conduct research as well as supervise student research projects
If you ever wish to present or publish your results in a public forum (ie., conference presentation, journal), then you **must** change the way you are presenting your project. If you are only collecting data for your own purposes, or to fulfill the requirements of a course, then you still **should** change the presentation of the project. These suggestions are basic ethical standards for human subject research.
When you conduct research - even if online:
1. you must identify yourself - initials are not acceptable. While it is reasonable for participants to be anonymous it is not ethical for the researchers to be anonymous.
2. You also must give your institutional affiliation, or state for which class you are doing a project.
3. The purpose of the research must be clearly stated.
4. You also must give contact information and agree to provide the participants with the final analysis/results.
If you are conducting this research for purposes other than academic, you still must include the above information and be very clear about your identity & the purpose. If you don't adhere to the basic principals above, then you are violating ethical codes for conducting human research.
Best wishes.
I am just a search angel and my name is Barbara

of how adopted parents felt and get there point of view, seeing that I am always helping adopted people locate ther bio families.
I thought it would be great to get some feedback from adoptive parents point of view.
I am writing a book to help people find who they are looking for. In no way shape or form would I use someone in my book
without permission. In my book, I do not intend of using anyones story or what they write here.
