I am a successful single man in my mid 30s. I am at a place in my life where I am ready to be a father and I have a career which allows me to set my own hours, affording me time to spend with a child. I have just begun investigating the adoption process. I would love to give a baby from Eastern Europe a loving life. The 3 agencies I have contacted have informed me that single men can no longer adopt children. Is this now a policy set in stone? Are there any countries which will allow a single father to adopt? Can anyone suggest anything further I can do? Anyone I can talk with -- attorneys or agencies? Thank you.
I hope you are still monitoring the forums. I just saw your message. I am a single male and in the process of adoption from Eastern Europe. What you have to do is find the right agency for adoption. If you need some help in that area private me and I think I can help. I have met many receptive people to such and the thing is to find one that really wants to help. There are many prejudices about single guys wanting to adopt, but I can probably provide you with a couple of links. Take care, Dana

Just for information purposes, for you and also anyone else that might be reading thhis.
You can, as a single man adopt through your state's foster care system. It might be worth a phone call if you are receiving such resisitance.
Good luck in your journey.... however you are blessed.
