I want to clear up a few things.
I am NOT an employee of Adoption Media LLC, Adoption.com or any of its subsidiaries.
I volunteer my personal time to provide a service for this forum and its members for absolutely no compensation what so ever (Kiwi did send me some brownies once, but I dont think that counts).
My opinions, when posted, are just that, my opinions. Just like every other member here, I am entitled to express them, provided I donҒt violate the Terms of Service. Also, just like every other member, I am held to the same standards and can be (and have been) moderated by other members of the moderation team.
If I participate on a thread in the capacity of a moderator, then it will be clear, as I will be addressing administrative issues. If I participate on a thread in the capacity of a regular member, that too will be clear
Additionally, when I participate on a thread as a member, I donŒt moderate that thread at allthe same goes for the other moderators.
We work very hard not to muddy those watersŅ
Its become apparent recently, that some members donҒt believe I am entitled to share my opinion on the forumsthat in doing so, I am abusing my powers as a moderator. If ever, my volunteer position as a moderator comes between me being able to express my feelings and opinions (while still adhering to the ToS) on this forum, I will simply step down.
I am a member first and a moderator second.
I just want to make sure that everyone understandsŅbecause this will likely NOT be the last time this issue will come up.

Brandy, I for one, appreciate your comments and both your and Kiwi's level headedness. I've been "moderated" (what a good term considering I've usually been spinning out of control when gently talked down to moderation). Having been here for a while, if you guys tell me I'm out of line, I probaby was.

Shucks Brandy! And here I was thinking that you got paid a nickel for every word you post! I also thought it was your job to only have agreeing opinions, not ones that disagreed.
Seriously though, it is good that you come forth every so often and explain the difference between moderating and participating. Especially for newer members, they might not
realize that they have the right to disagree with your opinions just like they do with any other member here. As long as it's respectfully done (and follows the TOS of course!), you aren't going to ban them for disagreeing with you.

I appreciate all you do here too. I didn't think your post was out of line, so I'm sorry that others reacted to you the way they did. I guess there is just so much raw emotion here that sometimes things get more heated than they need to be.
Seriously - we need moderating here, and you and Kiwi do an outstanding job of letting people (yes, including you!) express other points of view, without spiralling down into ugliness.
