33yo. male, born on March 5, 1971 and adopted in St. Louis, looking for birth mother. I know that she was young and refused to give me up for adoption until most, if not all, of my medical problems were handled. Therefore I was adopted in a closed adoption at 22 months through the Missouri State Adoption Agency. I have not gotten any help from them. I respect it if you want your privacy, but I would like to know more about the history of my disabilities and biological medical history.

misspiwackit, My adoptive mother will not give her consent, she is afraid that I will no longer consider her my mother. I have continually tried to contact the Mo. state agency for the non-ID information with no responses. ellen, Thank you for the contact at the St. Louis Family Courts, maybe I will have more luck there.
You can call the Division of Family Services in the County your adoption took place. There is a form that has to be filled out for you to request your non-id info. The non-id info form DOES NOT require your adoptive parents to sign. The agency will mail you the form, you fill it out and mail it back (I mailed a letter along with the form requesting specific non-id info that I wanted.) I got a 2 page letter back from the County with some GOOD non-id info on it. Best of luck...if you want any help just let me know.

Chris - Julie is wonderful she helped me and she stays right on top of everything. She has a part timer who helps her in morning and she works on getting the file out of storage. If Julie did not tell you this but the files are stored off site. After they receive your forms they will request your file which will take 3-4 days to get back to them. Be patient and post often if you need support.
Also I still live in St. Louis so once you have your info if you need any look ups done just ask.

Chris - in the St. Louis directory for this year there are only two Rissman listed but there are 4 Rissmann listed. I will be at te County library early next week and will check the directory for 1971. Calling these people without a first name could be difficult. I can also do a marriage license search for you if you would like. If your bmom remained in St. Louis and married here you would then have a first name and a current last name. Just let me know if you would like this done. With at least a last name have you searched Classmates.com?

Unfortunately, I dod not have her first name. but any help you are willing to give would be gratly appreciated. I did send off a letter to the Texas County Courthouse requesting Non-ID information. They also said that with a notorized affidavit from my adoptive mother, they would contact my birthmother and see if she wanted contact, so I will still try that avenue. But thank you for for looking up what you can find. I'm not sure of the exact spelling, my mother said all that is stored in a box somewhere in the garage. Chris
