I am a sucker for journals and will almost always enjoy a spot to put words down on an empty page but I have a few questions about those being offered here?
First: 9 out of 10 times I attempt to access mine I cannot and I hope this is just something being worked on....
Second: there appears to be a rating system for the journals so I wonder is this sort of like the forum thread rating system where many people must rate in order for the rating to increase? Is NO STAR really better then ONE star which is defined as 'terrible'? SO I assume because my journal has one star it must be considered terrible and maybe everyone else with no star is a nice journal everyone likes?
Anyway---just wondering????
Thanks I thougt it had to just be those rotton bugs and kind of like the idea that the journals will remain simply our own words with the forum there is pleanty of comments so I think it is balanced to keep the comments off the Journals---at least people will have someplace to have continued thought uno inturupted....

I must admit that I hate the journal rating (mainly because my journal is rated as "bad" :p, where do people get off rating my personal life as bad?).
But my question is, if I set my journal to "private" but did not create the entries as "private", can people read those entries now?
Brad,
I don't know. I just tried to get to yours after reading your question and I can't get there. Says it's not there?
Edit:
Clicking on the link by clicking on your name, I get:
SchmennaLeigh, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Okay, I just came across a problem.
Wrote out a post, went to post and it said something to the effect of:
Posts from outside Hosts are not allowed.
I turned off my firewall thinking it might be interfering (or something?) and it still didn't work.
Just a heads up. :)
I have been getting the outside host message all day--I think it is a BUG!
Brad--I know how you feel about having your life be rated!!! My first rating was Terrible so you must have a better life then mine!

Kiwi--just in case no one else has had this BUG I thought I would let you know that:
When I go to my profile and try to click the link to my Journal it fails..... and several people have told me they can only access the journals by going to the Journal Index so the links are not working apparently!
Thanks and no rush....
I have the same problem.
Which I didn't know until last night and probably would have forgot to post had Anna not brought it up.
Also, random journal links will either take you to a page that says its not there or simply back to the main forum page.
I have a question.... if I just want to browse journals to find any of people I "know", how can I do that? It seems that the "New Entries" indicate the member name, but the actual journal index does not (just the titles of the journals).
Anna / Brad ... I can't believe someone would negatively rate your or anyone else's journals! If you don't like it people, don't read it! Is that why you went private, B? Sucks for us.
Well, to be fair Plareb... I did have some junk in there as the first few entries because I was not ready to put personal stuff in there yet. So I guess the rating probably referred to all the junk at the start. But yeah, not feeling particularly like opening up the chance for people to slam me.

There is an option for "allow buddies to view my journal" which can be selected after making your journal private. It makes your journal available to people on your buddy list.
The search aspects are still fairly broken, so unfortunately, I can't give you a better way :(
I think once the links to the journals are fixed in the "Members List", that will provide some insight into who has journals without having to dig too far (and access to 'em, too). Thanks anyway, Sarah!
