If any one could help me with my problem(s) I would greatly appreciate it. Umm... first... Is registering w/ adoption forums .com and registering w/ adoption .com the same thing? If so why couldn't I find myself when I typed in my name? I registered w/ the forums .com one.
Also, where do I begin in searching for b-mom or family? I may post with isrr but before I do that I wanted to try and get the non id info from the county I was born in or at least my original b-certificate. That is another question I have. Is the original b-certificate and the one my adopted parents have different? I thought that it was the only one ever made. Would my original birth certificate have My b-parents name on it? I went to the county courts web site but I got lost. When I went to childworld it was not helpful. Also I think they need info that I just don't have. I mean I know absolutly nothing. I know the city and state I was born in and the day. Thats it. I don't know the hospital, the adoption agency, names or anything. Maybe I should have posted this somwhere else but I do need tech support. I would have adsked the registering question at chat but I couldn't get into there either. Somthing about my firewall on my computer. I'm a mess!!! :o
Adoption.com is just the home page, there isn't anything there to register for. I believe you are referring to the reunion registry at http://adoptionRegistry.com. If so, that is indeed a seperate area from the forums and you do need to register seperately.
To search, Go back to the main forums page and click "Search & Reunion" and look through the various forums for what you need. The most useful are "Born or adopted by year" and "born or adopted by State". I'll warn you that those forums get very diffucult to search. Utilize the "search" button in the purple tool bar (click on Advanced Search for more accurate searching) to narrow it down. Chat is down (it has been for several weeks) but could very well be up today or very soon.
I suggest posting the questions about your birth certificate and other search related questions in the Search & Reunion boards, there are many people who will be eager to share their experience. Good luck with your search!
