I am a member of the House of Representatives for Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature (a mock legislative session) and I am notorious for bringing bills dealing with adoption to session each semester. I know that this is just a mock session, but many pieces of legislation that pass get noticed by the real Congress...which is what happened with my last bill about non-identifying information in adoption cases. Anywho, I was wondering...does anyone have any ides for a new piece of legislation(s) dealing with adoption? I would like to broaden my horizons and get my voice heard. Any ideas you can give me so I can turn them into legislation might mean that they could get noticed by the 'big dogs'. I am not only notorious for bringing adoption bills to session, I am also notorious for getting my bills debated and passed! Help me out and I could help adoptees out!
An Open Records Act needs to be passed with a grandfather clause for all aboptions occuring before the act was passed. I don't care if it only allows non-ID info to be shared, but I'd rather have that than to go through the hoops and hurdles we all have to go through!
