Mary, you seemed to have made it through the process pretty quickly. That is good news to me since we are just in the beginning stages. We are hearing it could be a year or longer for a referral. To the OP, we are using Little Miracles in Texas as our agency. Feel free to PM me, although, like I said, we are in the beginning stages.Laura

I am new to the forum, would you please let me know what agency you used to adopt from Bulgaria?
From what I read on the Bulgarian consulate website, there are only 3 American agencies that are licensed in Bulgaria- Adopt an Angel InternationalLittle Miracles InternationalAll God's Children International the rest of the agencies are Bulgarian. Is this accurate? Is anyone using one of these 3 agencies? http://www.usembassy.bg/consular/adoptagency.html

Most of the American Agencies partner with a Bulgarian Agency. I used Tree of Life in Oregon for my first Bulgarian adoption, and am using them again for my second.
They, along with other agencies, are making new clients aware of the lack of referrals coming out of Bulgaria. I would not give money to any agency for a Bulgarian adoption until the referrals start to flow again. I am currently considering switching to Russia, because I can not see any referrals coming until October at the earliest. There are elections coming up in June, and then the country shuts down in August. So, if all goes well in the elections, it will be Sepember / October before things get flowing. from there, many of us will have at least a 5 - 6 month wait for a referral, and then another 3 - 4 months until you bring the child home.
