Hello all!
We adopted William and Timothy from Russia June 26, 2004! They are 10 months apart and are 4 and 5 right now. They were best friends in the orphanage and we didnt go into the whole process knowing that we would adopt two (I had thought about it but really didnt know) until we went to meet William and he kept asking for Tim, his best friend. They were so inseparable and the conditions so heartbreaking there we just ended up adopting them both.
Our whole process was very quick... 90 days from the first visit to the agency until they were home so we didnt have a lot of planning time and as a result, we struggled mightily for our first 5-6 months home. We felt like we were way in over our head... these were our first kids so we had no experience!
We finally turned the corner around Christmastime and the boys are doing very well!
I think we were expecting all roses and fun when we got home and it was a lot of hard work and not at all like our rose colored glasses had made us think that adopting two preschoolers would be. Now that we are more realistic, its a lot better. I just wanted to make sure to post that for those who might be struggling.... I felt like a freak when I wasnt as "thrilled" as other newly adopted moms! We all adjust at our own pace.....
Here's a picture of my DH and boys last summer....

They look like they'd be so much fun. Congratulations on turning the corner. Parenthood, no matter how much experience you have is always a big adjustment!
I always tell people, that if they leave their hearts open to God's will that He will bless them greater than they had hoped or planned for themselves. It looks like you're living proof!

What a fabulous picture leeinmemphis!!! I am glad that you, your hubby, and your little guys are doing well after a rough start (I adopted two infants from Guatemala, but can still relate to your experience).
