I'm a pretty active member of the adoption forums, an adoptee, AND a college student. I'm an Adolescent Ed. major and I'm currently writing a paper on "the roles of a parent" for my Education 200 class. Loosely, the paper talks about how I personally define the role of a parent, but it also touches on single parent homes vs. two-parent homes, the issue of a parent being a child's first teacher, etc.
SO - I would LOVE to hear from some of the parent's on this site.
What are your "wisest words of wisdom" regarding parenting?
Do you agree/disagree with the idea that a parent is a child's first teacher?
I found a quote by an author that is as follows: "Don't worry that your child doesn't always listen to you. Worry that they are always watching you!" What do you parent's think of this quote?
Parent's - - how would YOU define the word "parent" after all your parenting experience?
THANK YOU! You can pm with your responses, or pm me and ask for my email address, whichever works better. I really appreciate it...I've conducted surveys of sort on the forums before and gotten AWESOME responses! I hope I get a repeat hehe! :D
