I was asked to clarify what I meant by a statement I made on a Thread.... It was pointed out that a phrase in it came off in a way I had not actually inteneded for it to mean...
When speaking of "The Lowest Common Denominator" anyone who listens to talk radio has heard this phrase used in reference to
"Persons who are not educated on a certain subject"
In this case I was refering to those people who may not understand the validity and methods that are used to come up with Statistics...and honestly many people are Not educated with what these methods are and what is considered to be good proof....My advice was to someone--that it is a good idea if we are careful that we do not toss stats around....because some people do not understand how to value stats they see...
Anyway--apparently what I said hurt someone's feelings and was seen as an attack on another forum memeber and I was asked to clarify....BUT I have no idea where this post is now--so I cannot fix it...so anyone who knows where it is please tell me so I can make what I meant more clear!
Thanks!
Anna - I remember the thread - what was it??? Oh, was it was on the Second Class? You can click on user IP, I think, and do a search for all of your posts (luckily, the most recent ones are listed first)

Well thanks Elizabeth--but it appears to me that the offending phrase was either edited or deleted already.... Not too much I can do now.....
I did a search with the words and welll nothing came up that I had posted except this post....
It is too bad that sensitive feelings didn't allow for adult communication and too bad that what I said cannot be reviewed or clarified.... But that is all fine....
I saw your post Anna via email but when I went to that thread your post wasn't there. I assumed you had deleted it.
The thread was Davidked's on How Dare They Divorce.
I'm sorry someone took your post to be offensive, I understood what you meant and did not think it was offensive at all. JMO
Yeah, Anna, I read it too - and I understood (I've taught Research Methods and Measurement & Statistics). I didn't see anything offensive either.
The post was deleted because of the negative remarks made regarding some members who were referred to as "the lowest common denominator".
Anna, I know that you are aware of the policy regarding the questioning of deleted/edited threads and the fact that they must be done via PM.
