I have been informed that the NAC is using a lottery system in selecting appointment dates on certified dossiers.
In my case, our police report has expired and being reprocessed again, which means that if our dossier was picked today, the dossier will be shelved until the updated documents are received. Therefore, you will only get notified of your appointment if you dossier is still up to date.
Also, the date picked could be anywhere from May 2004 through February 2006. Apparently they are no longer giving appointments base on the order good dossiers come to the NAC.
As I have mention before in this forum, it has been over nine months since our original dossier was sent to the Ukraine, and this latest development does not seem fair to those who have been waiting so long. It appears that the wait now could be anywhere from 2 months to almost a year based on your draw.
I am interested if anyone has been informed of this lottery. This information was passed to my faciliator who informed my agency who called me today. Personally, I am dismayed by all these endless stumbling blocks and the possibility of another year's wait. Up to this point, nearly two years of money and effort has been fruitless. It seems as remote as ever that there could possibly be a child at the end of all this.

Hmmmm....sorry to hear your news. I haven't heard anything about any lottery. I'm adopting independently and the lady who is helping us also helps others....she's sending people over in April. They didn't mention any type of lottery to us nor have I heard it anywhere on the internet. Perhaps you need to question your agency further? I will pray for you. It sounds as though your'e about ready to give in! Keep your chin up!

We submitted our dossier in late October, received our registration number January 26th, had our requested dates hand delivered by another couple February 14th and received out NAC date September 7th.
Based on what we were told upfront we are on schedule.
FYI - we do have to update our dossier - dates have expired.
