Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find waiting children other than the adoption exchanges and state websites?
I've exhausted all the online sources and was hoping there might be other sources of locating waiting children.
Have you tried www.rainbowkids.com ? You don't mention it but it would appear you're looking for w/c in the us. I'm not sure if rainbow kids has american w/c, but it's worth a shot. Shelley

Yes, I'm sorry I should have mentioned...We are searching for a waiting child in America. Thanks for your post. I will check it out.
Dana Dane,
There are a lot more websites than you realize. Have you tried comeunity.com? They've got quite a list - on their main page, go to the bottom left, blue box, special needs - click on that.....then, several lines down, click on List of Photolistings. They've got a lot of group state websites as well as state by state.
But I've got a few other ones if you've seen all those. Feel free to PM me for them!
Sandy
Our private adoption agency lost their contract with the state. We had a choice of having our homestudy placed with another private agency or directly with our county. Having our home study placed with the county was an excellent choice. Essentially we cut out the middle man. We were contacted regarding a placement within a few weeks and had a foster to adoption placement in less than 4 months. Now eight months later we were approached about taking an infant.
My best advice though is to be your own best advocate. Follow up, follow up, follow up... unfortunately no one else will do it for you.
